A wine lovers dream! Experience the romance and elegance exploring two of France’s most magnificent cities, Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion (both UNESCO World Heritage sites). Your trip begins with an immersion experience at the world’s most comprehensive wine museum, La Cité du Vin. The days following will be filled with sampling the region’s finest wines as a guest at legendary Châteaux, such as Margaux, Latour, Mouton Rothschild, and Angélus. Stroll Bordeaux’s beautiful neighborhoods, designed by Baron Haussmann, the same celebrated 18th century architect who rebuilt Paris, and marvel at the centuries-old Église Monolithe of Saint-Émilion.

Your guide for the week is DCWAF friend, Olivier. After receiving his Hotel & Restaurant Management degree in his home town of Brittany, Olivier moved to the UK and earned his stripes as a sommelier for the 5-Star Belmond Hotel, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. A few years later, he jumped at an opportunity to move to New York City where he thrived as a sommelier for world-renowned chef Eric Ripert at Le Bernardin. Olivier ultimately spent 15 years in New York City honing his craft and earning the distinguished role as Wine Director for some of the city’s best chefs, such as Daniel Boulud at Café Boulud, David Bouley at Bouley Restaurant and Danube. In 2018, Olivier returned to France to continue his wine journey and fully understand the beautiful layers of the wine world. He began studying viticulture and now works for various estates in Entre-Deux-Mers. Olivier’s passion and curiosity for the wine industry, along with his expertise working in ultra-luxurious environments make him the perfect guide for your French escapade!
