44. Above the Clouds at the McLemore
Close enough for an easy drive but far enough to feel a world away, McLemore is a master-planned mountaintop community located atop Lookout Mountain in the heart of northwest Georgia. At 2,300 feet above sea level, McLemore rests an easy two-hour drive from Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, Huntsville, and Knoxville.
Fresh mountain air awaits up to eight golfers for two nights in one of the Golf Cottages on property, each outfitted with four spacious bedrooms, each with two queen beds, and four full bathrooms. An ample kitchen with contemporary appliances and granite countertops is an ideal setting for entertaining family and guests. The living room, furnished with soft, comfortable sofas and lounge chairs, is a welcome place to relax after a long day on the course or hiking local trails. The spacious back porch provides guests with a serene outdoor setting for winding down around the fire pit. It’s the perfect location for comfortably watching the glow of early morning sunrises and evening sunsets.
Golfers will experience the McLemore Highlands Course, an award-winning, cliff-edge par 71 course re-imagined by Bill Bergin and Rees Jones; as well as McLemore’s newest course, The Keep, which will boast five cliff-edge holes and is scheduled to open in the fall 2024. Wind down after a long day of golf with lunch or dinner at The Creag Restaurant. Drawing inspiration from both the area’s Scottish heritage and the rugged, natural landscape, The Creag offers elevated comfort food in an elegant mountaintop setting. Above the clouds is as much a state of mind as it is a special place on the mountain.
