WMBB: 'Diamond of the Season' wine auction benefits local charities

Out of every wine auction in the country the ‘party auction’ is held here in the Panhandle.

The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) hosted the 19th annual event at the Grand Boulevard in San Destin on Saturday.

Hundreds of people filled the Bridgerton-inspired tent spending thousands of dollars on prizes and of course wine.

The Foundation, while fun, raises millions of dollars each year. The money goes right back into 17 local charities that focus on helping kids on the Panhandle.

Since its start in 2005, the foundation donated more than $32 million. There is no word on how much the event raised. They will present checks to the charities in late summer.
