30a Food and Wine: Charity's favorite night of the year

The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is a non-profit organization raising millions of dollars each year – money specifically earmarked for children’s charities around Northwest Florida. From wine festivals to auctions to exclusive luncheons and dinners, the foundation had raised a total of $32 million over its previous 19 years.

Kicking off its 20-year anniversary celebration Thursday evening, they gave away another 3, bringing their grand total to $35 million.

“Tonight is the culmination of a year’s work,” said foundation Director Karah Fridley-Young, who recognized supporters, event sponsors, exceptional volunteers, and handed out checks to 17 charities.
