Passing Time
Damon Huard is a former professional football quarterback and current owner and managing partner of Passing Time Winery in Washington State.
Huard played college football at the University of Washington from 1991 to 1995, becoming the Huskies' all-time passing leader with 5,692 yards. He notably led the team to an 18-point victory over the Miami Hurricanes in 1994, ending their 58-game home winning streak in the Orange Bowl.
From 1997 - 2009 Huard enjoyed a 12-season NFL career with teams including the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs, earning two Super Bowl rings with the Patriots. He finished the 2006 season with a 98.0 quarterback rating, ranking second in the NFL behind only Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.
Introduced to Washington State wines by teammate Dan Marino in the late 90’s, Huard developed a passion for wine. Upon retiring from football, he and Marino co-founded Passing Time in Woodinville, Washington, releasing their inaugural 2012 vintage in 2015 to critical acclaim.
Passing Time Winery has garnered significant recognition, being named Northwest Winery of the Year in 2023. In October of 2023 their flagship 2021 Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet received a perfect 100 points from the International Wine Report.
In addition to his winemaking ventures, Huard works at his alma matter and serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Special Initiatives for the University of Washington Athletic Department.
