Ponzi Vineyards

A Northern Michigan native, Max began his wine career in 2009, gaining experience in Michigan, California, and New Zealand before immersing himself in Oregon’s cool-climate wine scene, completing his first harvest with Penner-Ash Wine Cellars. He joined Ponzi Vineyards in 2016, working in nearly every cellar role while championing low-intervention winemaking and sustainable farming. In 2024, Max became only the third winemaker in Ponzi’s history, hand-selected by Luisa Ponzi to carry forward the estate’s legacy and craft wines that reflect Oregon’s unique terroir.
