The JCB Experience
In just 3 weeks, we will all get to experience the magnetic energy, passion, and innovation that Jean-Charles Boisset brings to every room he enters. It's no wonder Decanter magazine's “Power List” of the 50 most important people in the wine world has included Jean-Charles each year since 2007. With his best-dressed attire and signature red socks, he earned the Nob Hill Gazette’s Best Dressed Man Accolade in 2014. He exerts the same pizazz into his wineries and their tour experiences. Raymond Vineyards is equipped with the Red Room, Crystal Room, and the best of 2015 Wine Tasting Rooms in Napa (according to the North bay Bohemian). The Napa Valley Winery was declared the American Winery of the year in 2012 by Wine Enthusiast magazine. Home to the party of the year, “Napa Gras”, where Jean-Charles greeted his guests swinging from a trapeze swing, pouring his famous JCB bubbles into their glasses.
Visiting America first at age 11, he then returned in 2003 to buy the DeLoach Estate, where they produced Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Maybe you have seen therecent buzz about the “Wine Tool Museum at the recently renovated Buena Vista Winery. In 2011, Jean-Charles purchased and began to restore Buena Vista Winery, which later earned him the California Preservation Design Award for “Craftsmanship & Preservation Technology”.
The line of wines that bear his initials, JCB each numbered for a reason. No.3 , the Burgundy, Pinot Noir blend uniting his native and adopted countries, was brought to life because “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. No. 69 is from the year of his birth. And then there is "Surrealist" by JCB, a Napa Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon Blend, whose bottle is a piece of art, with a jewelry brooch and decanter wrapped into one.
The Boisset Collection unites the old and new world’s of wine with its Franco-American spirit and wineries on two continents. It is now one of the world’s leading family-owned luxury fine wine companies. Growing up above the family wine cellar in their own living room in Burgundy, France, Jean-Charles Boisset and his sister Nathalie, are the second generation. Now with more than 20 Estates worldwide, they continue their parents’ vision, bringing values and ethics together, and focusing on their land as well as preserving the ecosystem. We are salivating over the auction lot experience to visit DeLoach Vineyards, Buena Vista Winery, and Raymond Vineyards offered this year at the 2015 auction. Winners will even get to enjoy dinner at the home of Jean-Charles and his wife.
